"New Solution" is the first official single going to radio! We, along with our team, feel that this there are a lot of 'single' worthy songs on the Everything Burns album, and we are are leading off the big Pop Radio push with "New Solution."
We are manufacturing a limited number of physical copies of the "New Solution Single." Each one is autographed, and comes in a very experimental case...you'll see. (We had our manufacturer try printing directly on the jewel case.)
These physical discs are being given away to radio stations, and we'll have some for fans as well...

We're so excited to announce that TODAY our first music video comes out!
The "New Solution" official music video was filmed at a live at a show in the auditorium of Thompson High School, in Birmingham, AL - USA.
We wanted to capture the live feel of a SHIROCK show for our debut video. A unique thing about this video is that about 20% of the audio you're hearing is the live recording we did at the show. A lot of times (even for "live" music videos) the audio is just the studio version of the song. We decided to use a good bit of the live audio also...in the extended version of the video you'll hear the "New Solution" outro that we do at some shows (with a bit of "Man Inside" sprinkled in) - that is 100% live audio from the show.
Another interesting thing is that typically for music videos the band or artist is lip syncing to the recording during filming. When we perform live we use what's called a 'click track' that keeps the tempo of the song going so we don't speed up or slow down. When we filmed this music video we decided to perform the song live to the exact same tempo we recorded it at...that way when we used the live audio, and pieced together the video all of the performing would line up perfectly.

The team is being headed up by SHIROCK manager, Fallon Nell - and the homebase for The Movement Group is relocating to Los Angeles, California.

Debut Album Everything Burns Hit Shelves on September 22nd
Nashville rock band SHIROCK has been singled out as the first independent band that Hollister Co., a division of Abercrombie & Fitch, has chosen to distribute in their stores across the U.S. SHIROCK’s debut album, Everything Burns was made available today, Tuesday, September 22nd in over 500 Hollister stores, giving the band the distinction of being the only indie band to ever grace the shelves at the upscale retail chain. Produced by Jay Ruston (The Donnas, Cold War Kids), Everything Burns is an album featuring anthem-driven rock songs with passionate lyrics that convey positive messages of hope.
How a young band like SHIROCK found its way to the hallowed shelves of Hollister makes for an impressive story. Abercrombie & Fitch / Hollister music supervisor Ted Keyes found SHIROCK’s music on iTunes, and liked it enough to add the band’s song “Calm Inside the Storm” to Hollister’s in-store playlist rotation soon after. SHIROCK started getting messages from fans saying they heard the song while shopping, and the response was so good on Hollister’s end that they stepped up their relationship to distributing the Everything Burns CD through their stores. Keyes explains, "SHIROCK embodies the aspirational qualities we look for when we select an artist to form a partnership with our company. Their music not only resonates with our target audience but presents itself as a testament to the true spirit of independent music."
Chuck Shirock, the band’s founder and front man, added, “We are really excited about the opportunity to be an independent band on the shelves of Hollister in company with groups like Green Day and The Killers. SHIROCK is a five-piece band that is not content with simply creating music and singing about making a difference –;; they take their message further with their non-profit organization “Everything Burns.” Built on the idea of “Living for Things That Matter,” the organization strives to encourage and equip people to get involved and make a difference in their communities. Earlier this year the band hit the road with their 14-city “Everything Burns Tour,” which partnered with local charities dedicated to solving issues of homelessness and poverty. In keeping with the band’s mission, all income from the tour went directly to charity.
With a sound that has been compared to U2 and Coldplay “the band's positive messages on songs like "Still Young," "New Solution" and “Calm Inside the Storm" are uplifting without being preachy, encouraging without being strident” (Birmingham News). HM Magazine says Everything Burns is “literally the complete package. Quality songs, vocals, and instrumentation: imagine a filled-out rock band going after shiny Jack’s Mannequin hooks.”
To support the release of Everything Burns, SHIROCK is planning another tour for later this Fall.
So we made it back from Cornerstone Festival alive...if you haven't seen the videos, check them out on the SHIROCK Backstage (backstage.SHIROCK.net). We had a great time at the festival...we did a lot of work with EB (Everything Burns) while there, and it went amazing.
We're now back in Nashville for a while, working on a lot of different things. Pap & Chuck are working on new Irock Clothing designs for the Fall/ Winter, and some new programs for Everything Burns. We got all of the gear set-up in the The Garage (the garage/studio at Chuck & Pap's house), and we're going to be working on some demos, and additions to the show for the fall tour.
We're getting ready for the Hollister Store distribution to start toward the end of the summer, and we're pulling together the team of people on the business end for all of our plans in the fall.
Over the last few days we've been working on the Backstage Site - check it out and spend some time exploring. We use the Backstage as a place for fans to get a deeper view into what we're doing. We post all photos, videos, song demos, journal entries, scanned-in pages from Chuck & Pap's songbooks, & more there.

We're back from our trip to Birmingham, AL for City Stages festival, a couple live TV show performances, interviews & more...
Every day was humid and nearly 100˚ - probably the worst weather I could imagine. Regardless, we had a great time, and are looking forward to more shows in Birmingham & the rest of Alabama.
Next stop for us is Cornerstone Festival in Illinois. We leave early next week and will be there all week. We're doing 2 shows there, one of which is a regular show (see our tour schedule for info) & the main event is the "official" Everything Burns Showcase. If you're going to Cornerstone, make sure to come to the EB Showcase on July 4th, Encore II stage.
Also if you're going to be there ake sure to get your "EB" Armband - we're partnering with Compassion to raise money to help prevent kids from getting Malaria. A $10 donation will help keep 1 kid from contracting the disease. And any donation more than $2 also recieves a FREE EB Armband. (*See the Everything burns FEED to check out a picture of the EB Armband.)

In October 2010, Key Club at Thompson High School in Alabaster, AL (outside of Birmingham) hosted a SHIROCK (www.shirock.net) concert to benefit Toys for Tots. Key Club members sold tickets for the show and were able to raise over $4,000 for the charity which aims to “to collect new, unwrapped toys …and distribute…[them] as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.”

This is how it all starts, once we have the ideas and the basic direction we have to get specific with every measurement on a shirt...then we send this off to the company that makes it, and they will mock-up what it would look like. They send it over to us, we make adjustments and send it back.
We go back & forth with them until the fit is perfect. Then once we're happy with the way it fits and feels, we'll take that and print designs, do special washes, "age" it...whatever else we'd like to do for that specific shirt.
It's a long process, but we only want to sell shirts and stuff that we would wear...so why wouldn't we take the time to get it right for you? :)
